What is considered back to back winning seasons? (Atlanta Falcons?)? What exactly does it mean to have back to back winning seasons? The falcons record last year was 11-5 loosing in the wild card race. This year the falcons are 8-7. They play there last game sunday against carolina. So what does it mean to have back to back winning seasons? Do you have to win a certain number of games? Do you have to be the division champ? Can someone please explain this to me? no no lol. This could be for any team. In general, what kind of record or stats or championship do you need to have to be considered back to back winning seasons. I don't get what that means? This is not a question directly toward the Falcons DYLAN E! Thank you! I completely understand it now. You will be getting the best answer, because you were the first to answer.

It refers to the regular season record of a team. You must win MORE games than you lose. 9-7 is a winning season. 8-7-1 is a winning season. 8-8 is NOT a winning season. Or, put another way, it's something that is impossible for the Detroit Lions to do for even ONE year!

In the literal translation of the phrase, it means to have two consecutive seasons in which your regular season record is 9-7 or better. But in the sense that the Falcons should have done much better this year, it's difficult when your two best offensive players are injured for several weeks.

If they win their last game. That means: They will have two seasons in a row (back to back) where they finish with more wins then losses. Back to back winning (record wise) seasons. 11 wins - 5 losses last year. If they win on sunday they will have 9 wins and 7 losses this year. Hope this helps.
