How stupid is AJ Smith, General Manager of the San Diego Chargers? Do you think that maybe AJ Smith, General Manager of the San Diego Chargers, is the problem of why the Chargers haven't won a Super Bowl? I mean, take a look at just a sampling of some of the tallent they've allowed to slip away over the past few seasons: * Junior Seau * Rodney Harrison * Donnie Edwards * Michael Turner * DREW BREES * Lorenzo Neal * Chris Chambers * Ladainian Tomlinson * And now most likely: Antonio Chromarte and Shawne Merriman Do you think that maybe the Spanos family should think about replacing AJ SMITH instead?

It's understandable why he got rid of all those people. Take Brees for instance. He knew that Rivers was a quality QB, and Brees was coming of shoulder surgery. They had to pick one or the other, and they went with the safer bet. Similar situation with Turner when LT was the best back in the league. His biggest mistake was getting rid of Shottenheimer. He turned that team around, and then they went with Norv Freaking Turner. That's how stupid he is.

* Junior Seau - Past his prime when released * Rodney Harrison - I awlays questioned this one. * Donnie Edwards - Past his prime * Michael Turner - It would have cost too much money to re-sign him. It would have tied up too much money at the position for two featured backs. Releasing LT would have been extremely unpopular decision with the fanbase. And he was still a productive back. * DREW BREES - They had too many high caliber QB's. Brees had a serious shoulder injury and it was questionable that he could come back and be the same. Plus they had Rivers waiting in the wings who was ready for his shot. * Lorenzo Neal - Past his prime * Chris Chambers - past his prime * Ladainian Tomlinson - Past his prime * And now most likely: Antonio Chromarte - He has underperformed and apparently will never be a good tackler. I still think they should keep him, however. and Shawne Merriman - I think they'll sign him.
